Coffika
Deriving from Scandinavian sensibilities, the origin of Coffika’s name comes from a blend of ‘Coffee’ and ‘Fika’.

Project Outline
With plans to unveil a new coffee house brand, our client asked us to deliver on everything from naming and branding all the way through to the interior design of the coffee shop.
The origin of the name comes from an amalgam of ‘coffee’ and ‘fika’. Fika (pronounced fee-ka) is a Swedish custom, a kind of social coffee break where people gather to have a cup of coffee or tea and a few nibbles. Fika is such an important part of life in Sweden that is is both a verb and a noun. We therefore wanted to create a meeting place for friends that was both personable and stylish.
Our brief was to keep the coffee house casual and relatively minimalistic, yet warm and inviting at the same time. The refined materials palette combines wooden cladding, white herringbone tiling and copper accents throughout to create a modern, inviting space. Filled with bold, sharp lines, the rounded edges of the furniture soften the overall feel, and paired with a deep Indigo create a very cosy meeting place.
